From Karla's family cookbook (2014). This hearty Bolognese ragout forms the base for the family lasagne and is prepared using the traditional soffritto method.

Method

  1. Soffritto: finely chop onions, carrots and celery and sauté in olive oil. Crush garlic with salt and add with the seasoning.

  2. Brown the ground beef separately

  3. Add the soffritto and tomatoes to the meat and simmer for half an hour.
