Nut Crescents
The story
From Karla's family cookbook (2014). Nut crescents are a classic yeasted pastry filled with fragrant hazelnuts — a recipe reserved for special occasions.

Method
Sift the flour (so air gets into it — Tidi's tip). Mix flour, melted butter, sugar, salt, yeast and lemon zest into a yeast dough and leave to rise.
For the nut filling, stir together the ground hazelnuts with cream and a little sugar.
Roll out the dough and cut into triangles as described in the Bavarian cookbook.
Fill the triangles with the nut mixture and roll up into crescents.
Place on a baking sheet and bake for approx. 20 minutes at 180°C. Allow approx. 80 g dough and 30 g filling per piece.
