Method

  1. Peel the garlic cloves and crush them in a mortar.

  2. Toast the bread on both sides over an open grill or in a very hot oven (250°).

  3. Lightly rub with the garlic, place on a plate, and season with salt and freshly ground pepper.

  4. Drizzle generously with olive oil. Serve immediately.
